one second stand

She was his recurring Jacob’s ladder
From where he would often slip and fall.
He was her favored Abou Ben Adhem
Who topped the list amongst all.
At every single tryst,
No matter how much he did resist;
She, would tease, possess,
Shake him all up.
Let him assume he skipped a heartbeat;
And exit like they just broke up.
He, without any remorse
but teary eyed
would bid goodbye.
Knowing that this tête-à-tête
will surely repeat some other time;
In point of fact,
this was a brief yet unending affair;
Between the nose and the sneeze.
