Opening her eyes he revealed the surprise.
With a blindfold he had carried her all the way up.
Taking the piece of cloth off her eyelids,
He opened up a different world, altogether.
Standing atop the snow clad hills,
He showed on earth a paradise.
At the confluence of the earth and the sky,
They stood amidst the thick walls of mist.
He had escorted her to the promise land,
Which she once pointed to him from afar,
A place close to her heart, a long expressed desire,
To set her feet at the horizon before she closed her eyes;
The chill breeze brought them nearer,
His embrace gave her the warmth she longed for.
Their gazes locked and so did their lips,
For a moment they stood breathless lost in each other’s arms.
The moment lasted for a few minutes,
But it seemed like an eternal hour.
Returning to their senses they realized,
At times, you can also survive on fresh air and love.
Walking down the slope hand in hand, step by step,
They committed themselves with each other.
This wasn’t any wedlock but a pact their souls had made,
That they wouldn’t ever part until death played its part.
