SOLITARY WORLD

Seated by the window I look out as I'm on my way
I
see people racing ahead of time
And completely busy in their own solitary worlds
Many rushing towards their home
Whereas some are just on their way to work
It seems as though nothing divides the day from night
except for the sun's bright light
Now, earth revolves a lot faster than ever
And we need more hours than just 24
Everyone's busy in a world of their own
Never do they try to see what's around
Loosing out on small pleasures of life
While chasing dreams which they might just not reach
Ruled by fortune, fame and lust
No one know's what's their destiny that awaits
Running around, working hard and walking on
Sometimes even their shadows get tired and back off
But their chase for wealth simply never ends
Well, what more can I say?
I got to stop somewhere
And here comes my bus stop
Where I got to get off
And return to the solitary world where I belong

MOTHER

It was brightness like never before as she left the darkness behind
The world seemed new and bright when she carefully opened her eyes
She felt as though she'd been once again born
Something she hadn't experienced for long
All she could feel was some relief but mixed with unbearable pain
Then slowly the door opened and gave way to someone she'd seen before
But all that mattered to her was tat bundle of joy
That was gift wrapped in a soft piece of cloth
Tears clouded her eyes and blurred her vision for a moment.
But she sat up like a lil dame forgetting all her pain
She took her new born angel in her arms
And gently kissed on the forehead
A tear drop rolled down her cheek like a kid on a slide
And her face lit up with a divine smile
Now all her pain has gone far away
To a land she might not find her way
What's left for her is a title which every woman prays for everyday
It's "Mother" and that'll be her new name till eternity from today

UNKNOWN AMONGST THE KNOWN

Eyes deceive and mirrors lie
They never reveal the true image that's hidden inside
Of people you think you know everything about
You sometimes think twice if you're wrong or right
And all that's in store is a big surprise
But one day for sure it'll unexpectedly strike
And before you know the truth will tear you apart
It can be right now or just any other day
So be prepared to face it, 'cos it could be just anytime
For this world's a maze where most are lost
With people all over the place living a fake life wearing a mask

Eyes Wide Open

On my bed as I lay
Thoughts take a stroll in my memory lane
The lights are dim and silence prevails
There's not a single whisper from the caressing winds
The world's asleep but I alone am awake
Staring at the ceiling I think of her, who's far away
The night's cold and darker than ever
With a constant downpour of rain and lots of thunder
She's scared of thunder and lightning for sure
And I'm wondering if she's awake or tucked in and asleep
I've lost my sleep while I'm thinking if she's sleeping sound and safe
Trying to close my eyes but all in vain
I sat up and wrote a scribble,
which you just read:)

MID SUMMER NOON'S DREAM

Sitting on a park bench I see her walk towards me
Though my eyes are wide open, I feel like I'm dreaming

Suddenly, the mid summer noon turns pleasant and serene

As the sky opens up and showers a light drizzle on the green

The green lawn looks at its best
Flaunting those droplets like a jewel made of crystals Birds begin to chirp and cheer as they take a dipin the fountain that's oozing with joy seeing her pass by
The trees shed their flowers

And weave a carpet as she walks

But she strolls down gracefully
Without trampling those blossoms beneath her feet
As though she's walking across the clouds
taking little steps one by one
Altogether, the nature's awe-struck
seeing her walk forth like an Angel from heavens above

By my side

We haven't met that often
I've no clue whether we'll ever meet
Never held each other's hands and wished upon a star
Nor have we walked together in the pouring rain
But why do I feel that you're always beside me
In moments of joy, grief, celebration or pain
I just don't feel like I'm ever alone
Your voice keeps echoing in my ears
And your image is what I'll never forget
Though it decieves my eyes through mirages and illusions
You're there when I need you most
Really close, no matter how far

Residents of the dark

Many take refuge in darkness

And that’s where forever they’ll stay
Away from the world, where everyone’s wearing a painted face
Those colours are fake but vibrant
And sometimes they fade away
They wander the streets all night hunting for their prey
Keeping an eye on every soul that’s lost and led astray
They’re victims of fate’s cruel game, which none can ever escape
All they do is search for the light
And get blinded by its bright rays
At last, they end up in the grave
Where the others have always remained

Compromise

Lend your ears to the world around you
Listen carefully and you’ll hear those voices
They’re echoes that resonate from within
Love, loss, regret, pain
And many such thoughts that are imprisoned inside
Some see the light of day
But many perish in darkness slowly one day
It’s strange how we think ahead of things
Even before they pass
But compromise when it’s a failure
And try really hard to console with a clich├ęd phrase
That everything is for our own good

THE BOOKMARK

Flipping through the pages of my life
I try to re-live the moments by every hour and every minute
Some were quite memorable and some just another page
There were moments that I thought would never end
And some, which I thought why did it even begin
Then I came across that part when we first met
You were not another page
But in between the pages is where you lay
The bookmark, which I turn to always
A rose that left an impression and it shall never fade

Revisit

Sitting amidst four walls
Burning the midnight oil
I'm all alone and none to talk
So I try to converse with my soul
We talk about the past and the present
Some irreversible accidents
And a few unforgettable moments
But still we ponder on what the future holds
And all that's in store to surprise me
Or simply take my breath away
But there's only one moment of my past
Which I'd always love to revisit
And that's when I first met her
Now, let the history repeat

Glow

The street lights bowed their heads down
When the moon appeared in the sky
As though they're paying their respect
After watching it glow tonight

The stars gathered all around
And admired it with their twinkling eyes
But a few stars fell and vanished
As they couldn't handle the moon's pride

But suddenly it disappeared into the clouds
When you slowly stepped outside
It crumbled into pieces in envy
Seeing your glow divine

Rushing into the clouds for shelter
It scribbled a message on thin air
And spread the word all over the skies
That there's a sunbeam that dwells on earth

Dream

Lie down on green pastures under the wide open sky
Listen to the cool breeze whisper a tune as it passes by
See the stars dim their light as they try to put you to sleep
Close your eyes my Angel and travel to the land across the seas
A land that's beyond the horizon where it's just you and me

What's Yours ?

You just can't own whatever you see
Ask yourself if you deserve what you desire
The blue of the ocean belongs to the sky
And even the moon owes its glow
to the ever shining sun
What you own is only the love you've earned
And nothing of this world belongs to you
After you're dead and gone

Together Forever

Every moment I close my eyes,

she appears with memories that never fade
She cheers me up and makes me smile
I have no regrets when we aren't in touch
Because she's always near to me
Even if she's out of reach

Destiny

Walking across a deserted highway,
I know not where to go,
I've lost my way,
And my destination's unknown.

All I see is the horizon,
Where the sky is kissing the wide open green,
And I hope that my destiny's somewhere out there,
Whatever happens I just won't turn away.

I'll keep on walking even if I've to limp in pain,
Cos I believe there's a piece of land,
Where I can rest in peace.
And a soul who'll accompany me till eternity.

Again

I wish to share your sorrow and pain
And my words try to console thee but all in vain
If only I had the power to heal
I would have made you whole from head to heel
Try to smile a lil while
Thinking of the bright sunny days
when we walked together for miles
Those days for sure will be back again
When thou shall never again visit
the land of remorse and pain

Nature's Wonder

Step out to the open fields
And look up to the sky
Watch the glittering stars that gaze at you
with their wide open eyes
All they do is wonder all through the night
That how can a sunbeam be seen even before sunrise

Friday, September 22, 2006

You're always on my mind

You hardly think of sunshine

while you’re walking in the rain

Neither can you recollect the moments of bliss

when in grief and pain

But for me, my Angel, you’re always on my mind

Because only the Earth forgets the sun until it’s time for dawn

But never ever has it been the other way round

Sunbeam

I was waiting for her by the pond

Skimming pebbles across placid waters

Ripples sparked up and interrupted the stars

From gazing at their reflection

The moon cast its spell and took over darkness

But the very next moment it shied away

When she walked out of the woods like a sunbeam

And the stars hid behind the clouds without a word to spare

Admire

When you're unable to close your eyes during the night
Step out and look up to the skies
Watch the stars that are shining bright
Staring at you with their wide open eyes
If at all you just can't sleep
It's because you need to admire them
Just the way they admire thee

To my Angel

At dawn I see you in hues of crimson
When it's dusk, you're in shades of blue
In my dreams you appear in a spectrum of tints
Oh pallette divine , you are an epitome
of the vibrant nature for sure

9/11

During the dawn, long way to dusk
When the pillars of Earth were turned into dust
The birds from hell struck with thrust
And crumbled the pillars that held the heaven
Mass massacre, souls led astray
Into the wilderness of rubble and debris
The angels of death hover around
Less chance of lives alive on the ground
Crucifixion of democracy by the savages of terror
Souls enslaved, anarchy in rule
The heaven has fallen and the Fallen dances away

SIX FEET UNDER

She sat by my side with pain and remorse
Tears rolled down like rain drops from the skies
Mascara smudged as fingers ran across her face
Lost for words she wept in despair
The rains gave up seeing her reign of tears
I lay beside her helplessly failing to console
Craving to patch up the hole in her soul
But still she sat by my side with pain and remorse
As I lay beside her unshaken, six feet under

SILENCE

Your silence speaks volumes
I wonder if I have enough ink to quench my thirst on paper
Your silence is a mystery
I have no clue as to where to begin
Your silence is a maze
I'm not sure where it's going to lead me
Your silence reminds me of the clouds above
I'll wait till it breaks with a streak of lightning
If silence is your expression
I know not a better way to express myself than this

Even broken hearts beat

Broken hearts never cease to beat,
They don't bleed but uncontrollably weep.
Memories of their beloved haunt
And their voices echo within their walls.
None can ever hear their cry
That's muted behind those mysterious eyes.
